During our stay in Cabo, we stayed at the all-inclusive Riu Santa Fe just outside of Cabo San Lucas. We booked our trip through Vacation Express, an amazing package vacation booking site that we used last year when we went to Puerto Vallarta. Vacation Express is the ultimate in Mexican getaways, and I plan on using them again when we travel to Cancun and Tulum next year!
When booking with Vacation Express, we wanted to make sure everything was covered, from flights, to food and drinks during our stay, to airport transfers. Most of the packages they offer include everything already, and you can even book excursions through them as well during the check out process. They offer great tips for getting through the airport on arrival and past the timeshare hounds, which is always difficult. They provide friendly and efficient service, and will offer suggestions on places to eat, drink, or visit. We didn’t book any extra excursions, rather just focused on relaxing at our resort.
The Riu Santa Fe is a large resort by the beach 1.5 miles from the town of Cabo San Lucas. The Riu Santa Fe and the Riu Palace are located on the same property, but separated by fencing. The Santa Fe has 4 pools, 2 swim-up pool bars, and 3 infinity pools looking out onto the beach. There are a variety of pool activities going on each day, ranging from volleyball to dance classes to water aerobics. Riu Santa Fe is also all inclusive, so you have your pick of 4 different restaurants, a buffet, and a sports bars to choose from. We arrived at the resort in a timely fashion from the airport and check-in only took a few minutes. We weren’t required to go to any presentations or time share programs as is sometimes the case when buying package vacation deals, so that was great. We only had to check in with a Vacation Express representative about our departure time to make sure we had an arranged ride back to the airport.
After talking to our representative, we headed over to our room. Our room was located in one of the buildings around the central pool, but close to the back, giving us quick access to the other beachfront pools and the beach itself. The driver from the airport had given us a packet from Vacation Express with our departure information card, as well as brochures from several different adventure/excursion companies. That’s one of the things I love about booking through them- they never try to push anything on you. We were free to go through the information as we pleased, and found an amazing tour to go on through Cabo Adventures, which you can read about here!
Our resort was wonderful, and our stay in Cabo was fantastic, even after our Hurricane Newton experience. Our departure shuttle was on time and we got to the airport with plenty of time to spare- enough time for one last cocktail!! Vacation Express really works with some of the best resorts, and helps you put together a perfect vacation at a reasonable cost. Check them out!!
